Project Manager Concrete Construction
About The Position
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Concrete Project Manager with a proven track record of managing large-scale concrete projects ($100M+) . This is not a general PM role with occasional concrete exposure — we are looking for someone who has come up through the concrete side of the business , either with a self-perform GC group or a concrete subcontractor/trade partner . The right candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and deeply familiar with the means, methods, and sequencing of concrete work , from preconstruction through execution . Important: If your background is in general project management with only partial concrete exposure , this role is not the right fit. We are specifically seeking career concrete professionals who have built their expertise in the field.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of concrete project management experience , with a focus on large, complex projects.
- Background at a concrete trade partner OR a General Contractor’s self-perform concrete group (required).
- Experience managing concrete scopes on projects $100M+ in size.
- Strong knowledge of concrete estimating, productivity studies, and GMP development
- Proven leadership working with field crews, superintendents, estimators, and executives/clients
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required if experience is strong)
Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts for major concrete scopes, from conceptual estimating through GMP development
- Provide productivity analysis, cost forecasting, and support senior management in client-facing preconstruction discussions.
- Oversee project teams during the development of detailed concrete estimates and schedules
- Manage field operations for self-perform concrete crews or subcontractor partners, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate concrete-specific risks (structural performance, weather, sequencing, supply chain, safety).
- Ensure high-quality delivery of structural concrete, flatwork, foundations, and formwork packages on large commercial projects.
