About The Position

Primal Kitchen, a leader in real-food condiments, dressings, sauces, snacks, and pantry staples, is seeking a Project Manager for its Product & Innovation team. This role reports directly to the Brand Manager for Innovation. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing and managing project timelines, leading key project routines such as commercialization calls, coordinating cross-functional partners to implement projects, and providing visibility on project status through internal trackers and project management tools. The incumbent is expected to have sophisticated knowledge of the commercialization process and a proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams. As a member of the Innovation team, there may be opportunities to drive underlying project strategy, including competitive analysis, whitespace identification, value proposition, differentiation, pricing strategy, COGS input gathering, SKU level P+L creation, and SKU forecast collaboration. The Manager will also serve as Primal’s commercialization subject matter expert, leading internal processes and routines, ensuring timely delivery from cross-functional partners, and driving commercialization with co-manufacturers. This role requires integration into Kraft Heinz Company (KHC) processes and meetings. Given Primal Kitchen's lean, fast-paced, and rapidly growing environment, the candidate must be comfortable navigating uncertainty and ambiguity, and confident in proactively engaging collaborators to solve challenges.

Requirements

  • Experience in CPG commercialization; in a project management role or a role that requires managing cross-functional teams
  • Sophisticated project management experience
  • Meticulous; organized; ability to manage competing requirements and priorities

  • Strategic capabilities/high sense of urgency/intuition for business

Responsibilities

  • Craft and own the timeline on a broad range of projects including new product development, quality improvement, label and packaging updates, new co-man identification and onboarding, product improvement projects, and other projects that impact our product portfolio
  • Engage with cross functional parties at all levels of the organization, including relevant brand stewards in Marketing, R&D, and Finance, as well as relevant technical and execution resources in Engineering and/or field operations
  • Drive the underlying strategy for a project (as a member of the Innovation team)
  • Work collaboratively with the Primal strategy team on competitive landscape analysis, whitespace opportunities, value proposition, points of differentiation, and product pricing strategy (if driving strategy)
  • Identify the intersection of manufacturing capabilities, Primal's brand equity / standards, and what retailers & consumers desire (if driving strategy)
  • Gather COGS inputs, create the SKU level P+L, collaborate on SKU forecast, and update key partners of project status and risks (if driving strategy)
  • Lead and manage Primal’s internal processes around commercialization, such as cross-functional commercialization calls, “New Item” meetings, and other routines focused on strategic projects
  • Remain in close communication with cross-functional partners to ensure each function is playing their part in delivering project timelines
  • Play a major role in driving commercialization with Primal’s co-mans
  • Lead key routines with Primal’s co-mans and capture key findings via notes and future action items
  • Ensure project timelines, checklists, and financial report-outs are consistently current
  • Maintain the project timelines, commercialization checklists, financials, and other key information requested by Primal leadership
  • Be integrated into KHC processes and attend KHC meetings that are relevant to the role or to the broader Primal Kitchen organization
