We'll provide you the opportunity for professional growth by having you be responsible for design, oversight, and coordination with internal design teams, clients, and sub-consultants. You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks in accordance with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. Aligned with any of our US offices, this is a hybrid position where you can work remotely and in the office. Working with a team of engineers, you will lead wind, solar, and battery storage projects from conceptual through final design, including preparation of general civil plans, grading, access road layouts, drainage and stormwater management plans, utility plans, erosion and sediment control plans, related permitting applications, specifications, and quantity takeoffs. We are seeking an innovative Project Manager/Civil Engineer to help us grow and deliver renewable generation projects including wind, solar, and battery storage in North America, focusing on core clients but exploring new clients as the energy portfolio builds momentum. The role will require consulting directly with clients and also leading internal design teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in civil site design for renewable energy clients.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Focus on site plan layout, geometric design of access roads and driveways, grading, drainage, and coordination with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with GIS and CAD professionals to prepare maps, drawings, and other details.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams in the preparation of technical drawings and engineering reports.
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multidisciplinary global project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • A demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, communicate effectively to all key personnel, manage time efficiently, and produce correct designs within budgeted time.
  • Assisting with proposals and business development activities.
  • Building strong client relationships with a variety of clients.
  • Attending in-person, field, and online meetings with clients to provide management support and engineering guidance to advance design efforts.
  • Knowledge of Land Development Process, State, Federal and Local permitting processes, and time lines.
  • Contributing to a learning environment by supporting fellow engineers with the opportunity to offer mentoring, be mentored, and take advantage of career development opportunities.
  • Review existing client standards for incorporation into program and project delivery.
  • Review designs for cost-saving opportunities and consistencies in design.
  • Conduct constructability reviews.
