About The Position

The Project Manager for the Bruin Connect and Secure program at UCLA will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive project plans aimed at enhancing the campus's information security and network infrastructure. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met while implementing best practices in project management to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. The Project Manager will also evaluate project performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, aligning efforts with the university's strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in project management, information technology, data services, application services, IT service management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management and status reporting.
  • Experience in activities that advance an inclusive environment valuing equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to anticipate and assess campus needs for information technology products and design services to meet those needs.
  • Working knowledge of technology-related initiatives and their organizational impact.
  • Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate technical information to a diverse community.
  • Ability to establish and advance positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to evaluate options and make decisions with integrity.
  • Creative thinking and ability to propose innovative ideas, including new technologies or processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of experience in project management, information technology, data services, application services, IT service management, or a related field.
  • One or more certifications such as PgMP, PfMP, Agile Scrum, LEAN Six Sigma, ITIL, or OCM.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of project activities.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track and monitor project progress, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Implement project management best practices and methodologies to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate project success and performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure alignment with the university's strategic goals and positively impact UCLA's operations and culture.
