The Project Manager (PM) will play a key role in overseeing the daily coordination and overall project management of assigned Breast Oncology Cohort Studies and related Secondary Use protocols, working under the guidance of the Principal Investigator(s) (PI) and the Associate Director of Translational Research in the Breast Oncology Department. The PM collaborates with the PI and Associate Director to establish systems for tracking projects and organizing biospecimen inventories. This position is responsible for managing and executing projects that align with departmental goals, ensuring timelines are met, and fostering effective communication among team members. The PM engages with stakeholders to facilitate project success, address operational challenges, and ensure the achievement of project-specific objectives. This includes developing infrastructure, procedures, and tracking systems to support project management activities. Responsibilities also encompass coordinating the onboarding and training of new research staff, maintaining workflows, and implementing strategies to ensure compliance, consistency, and accountability across all assigned research activities within the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) system. The PM is supervised and supported by the Associate Director of Translational Research. A critical aspect of the role involves creating a cohesive and proactive project management framework to support the research community. The PM ensures that all legal agreements, such as Material Transfer Agreements (MTA), Laboratory Service Agreements (LSA), Data Use Agreements (DUA), and Clinical Trial Agreements (CTA), are in place before transferring specimens or clinical data to external parties. Additionally, the PM monitors project deliverables, identifies potential issues, and develops contingency plans to keep projects on track. The PM collaborates with assigned Research Data Specialists (RDS) and other team members as needed to fulfill their responsibilities. Specific tasks and duties vary depending on the scope, aims, and duration of each project. This role requires a dynamic and organized approach to project management to ensure the success of research initiatives.
