AECOM is currently searching for a Project Manager to support aviation design management in the Hunt Valley, Maryland location. This position is expected to begin as soon as available in our Transportation Aviation Business Line. The position involves planning, design, engineering, and construction for airport projects dealing with airfield safety, standards, improvement, and expansion programs. Design work includes airfield planning, layout, and site design, earthwork analyses and design, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design, pavement design and maintenance, construction safety and phasing, aircraft layouts and modeling, storm water management design, erosion and sediment control design, utility coordination and design, environmental permitting, and preparation of construction plans, specifications, schedules, design reports, and cost estimates. Construction work includes construction administration and management including shop drawing review, responding to contractor questions, and construction inspection. The Aviation Engineering Group interacts with and is supported by many other in-house disciplines including Planners, Architects, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical and Special Systems Engineers in typical projects supporting our airport clients. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Provides design technical leadership for the aviation civil engineering group and is considered to be a fully capable professional in the airport field Completes designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and final working drawings for preparation of construction plans related to airport development projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, terminals, and other airport facilities Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects. Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects. Consistently delivers profit margins planned. Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion. Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors). Manages more complex clients and projects. Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such. Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims. Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects. Prepares construction specifications for airport development projects per FAA Advisory Circular 150/5370-10 and State requirements Prepares design reports, schedules, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates Uses various computer software for design development and prepares plans in Civil 3D Coordinates and collaborates with other airport/civil engineering, architectural, and engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, Utility companies, permitting agencies, contractors, government and regulatory agencies, and clients Serves as engineering Task Leader and conducts direct task supervision and mentorship of CAD Staff, Designers, and other Engineers at discretion of department manager Performs construction administration Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule
