Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • 10+ years of manufacturing, automation, or project launch experience
  • Strong technical foundation in mechanical systems, robotics, controls, motion, pneumatics, hydraulics, and/or vision systems
  • Proficiency in project management, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, procurement, and quality management
  • Ability to define and manage engineering processes, requirements, and technical documentation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across internal departments and external resources
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
  • High professional integrity with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to use general IT and project management tools effectively
  • Commitment to staying current with emerging automation and manufacturing technologies

Responsibilities

  • Define the process (Manufacturing Process and Production Process)
  • Establish required production rate, quality plan, and safety requirements
  • Define product data required to execute the project (3D models, drawings, specifications, quality)
  • Define baseline equipment specifications and standards
  • Develop and maintain the project Scope of Work
  • Create Request for Quote (RFQ) documentation and host quote line‑up meetings for procurement of machine components
  • Coordinate and resolve engineering design, integration, testing, and startup issues across the project lifecycle
  • Work closely with mechanical, controls, build, and service teams to deliver technical solutions
  • Lead system design activities, including requirements definition, commissioning, and validation
  • Author system operation, maintenance, and training documentation
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality for automation deliverables
  • Maintain timely budget and schedule updates, including critical path and mitigation plans
  • Ensure compliance with contractual deliverables and company processes
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and real‑time project records
  • Lead execution requirements during installations and support proposal activities
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional and production support teams to meet requirements and drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate activities of team members from various departments (technical, supply chain, site management, etc.)
  • Provide leadership within the project team despite having no direct reports
  • Manage internal customer communication, including meetings, documentation, timing updates, open issues, and cost/scope impacts
  • Monitor project compliance with safety rules, building codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Verify cost accuracy, audits, check sheets, and long‑lead component coordination
  • Prepare internal/external project status reports and escalate issues when necessary
  • Complete lessons‑learned evaluations to improve future projects
