About The Position

Archaeologist / Project Manager – Entry/Mid-Level Brockington and Associates is seeking a field archaeologist and project manager based in our Charleston, SC office for archaeological field work throughout the US. Minimum education: MA/MHP/MS in archaeology, anthropology, history, or historic preservation. Minimum experience: Two to four years of experience managing archaeological field projects. You must have the ability to: Prepare and execute detailed research designs; Conduct fieldwork - including archaeological survey, testing, and data recovery investigations; Lead projects, including field, lab, and reporting efforts, as Principal Investigator; Identify prehistoric and historic artifacts and features in the field; Effectively discuss projects with colleagues, clients, and review agencies; Prepare and manage budgets and schedules; and Write professional technical reports and publications. You should have an applied knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and a working familiarity of other environmental statutes and regulations. Travel, physical labor, and time spent in outdoor conditions are requirements of this job. You must be able to work as a member of a diverse team, manage projects and people, and complete other delegated project tasks.
