About The Position

Volanno is seeking a dynamic professional to serve in a dual Project Manager and Account Manager role. This position blends hands-on leadership of complex technology projects with responsibility for driving business growth at key transportation accounts. The Project Manager aspect will oversee a 24/7 technical operations contract focused on system support and maintenance. These projects may increase to include data analytics initiatives and pilot projects for emerging Volanno products. The Account Manager aspect will build and maintain strong relationships with two strategic transportation accounts, where Volanno currently delivers core services. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for these customers, driving opportunity identification, pipeline advancement, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate has experience managing technology programs, familiarity with Agile methodologies, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead both internal teams and external client-facing efforts to bring in new business. This position is partially remote, with an expectation of visiting customer sites approximately 25% of the time to monitor projects, build relationships, and develop new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience with technology projects.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (or higher) from a federal agency.
  • Experience creating contract-related documents such as the PMP, QCP, monthly reports, cost-based reporting, and PMRs.
  • Experience working with multiple projects and multiple customers in an active, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership.
  • Ability to negotiate timelines with the customer to ensure program success.
  • High effective in operating with keen political and cultural awareness toward customers.
  • Ability to read and adapt to stakeholders’ preferred approaches to work and the intricacies of their environment.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to share information, involve teams in decision making and keep team 'in the know' with the customer’s business needs.
  • Strong team management skills, including ability to motivate and cultivation of team goals and culture.
  • Advanced-level skills with using all products in the Microsoft Office suite including: Formatting in Word, High-quality, professional PowerPoint presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project or program management certification.
  • Active Public Trust clearance (or higher) from a federal agency.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across multiple teams and projects at both business and organizational levels to ensure contract compliance, with a clear understanding of scope and deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership, quality assurance oversight, and decision-oriented recommendations.
  • Ensure objectives are met in key areas including customer satisfaction, quality, schedule, and team performance.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps in alignment with customer priorities and identify opportunities for solution enhancements.
  • Lead risk and issue management processes, including mitigation strategies and escalation as needed.
  • Manage financial performance on a per-project basis, including forecasts, profitability, and reporting to leadership.
  • Conduct monthly internal and external status meetings; ensure accurate and timely delivery of all contractual reporting and deliverables.
  • Supervise technical professionals and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Implement process improvements to ensure program goals are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Maintain an active understanding of the project and opportunity pipeline for key customers.
  • Attend key customer meetings to identify new opportunities and strengthen Volanno’s position.
  • Participate in proposal development including writing, editing, pricing, and color team reviews (Pink/Red/Gold).
  • Share relevant client intelligence and strategic insights with Volanno’s Business Development team.
  • Contribute to BD strategy sessions with actionable input and reporting.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with Volanno’s prime contractors and potential new partners to support teaming strategies.
  • Track, report, and achieve measurable goals related to opportunity pipeline development, including meeting metrics such as number of qualified opportunities identified, pipeline growth by dollar value, conversion rates through capture stages, and win rates for submitted proposals.
  • Drive pipeline advancement by setting and meeting quarterly growth targets, ensuring opportunities are moved through qualification, shaping, proposal, and award phases with clear accountability.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support Volanno’s mission and growth.
