About The Position

Project Manager 2 is responsible for managing customer implementation projects from initiation through closure. This role owns project planning, execution, governance, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for stakeholders, risks, resources, and delivery outcomes while ensuring a high-quality customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects
  • Industry vertical or solution area experience
  • Microsoft Office proficient, including MS Project and Visio
  • Good oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain profesionalism with those outside of department
  • Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion with oversight
  • Good ability to provide exceptional follow through and be customer service driven
  • Average travel requirements for this job is 30% annualized, yet unique circumstances with customers may require more travel.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle for customer implementation projects, from initiation through closure
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Apply established project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid)
  • Track project progress, milestones, dependencies, and risks
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure adherence to delivery standards, best practices, and quality expectations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Lead project meetings, status reviews, and planning sessions
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and dependencies in a clear and timely manner
  • Manage client expectations and day-to-day client interactions
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Act as the first level of escalation for project challenges and conflicts
  • Manage scope changes through formal change control processes
  • Coordinate cross-functional project resources and oversee day-to-day execution activities
  • Provide guidance and accountability to project team members
  • Foster collaboration across internal teams and customer stakeholders
  • Create and maintain required project documentation, including project plans, schedules, risk logs, and status reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates in project management and tracking systems
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy
