About The Position

As a Project Manager 1 , you will join our One Water Team in our Woburn, MA office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Our One Water Team and Projects Our team of 160 dedicated water professionals has earned multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards. We partner with private, state, and local government clients to enhance drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring reliable and sustainable systems for communities. As part of our team, you’ll help plan, design, and administer the construction of new and upgraded conveyance systems, treatment plants, and pump stations. You’ll support clients with capital improvement planning, hydraulic modeling, and asset management programs. Our work also includes Long-Term CSO Control Plans, Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plans, Integrated Water Resource Management Plans, and Sewer System Evaluation Studies—driving smarter, more resilient water solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Considerable consulting engineering experience with increasing responsibility in the water and wastewater industry
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer
  • Demonstrated project management experience and strong technical skills
  • Strong leadership ability with a passion for managing and mentoring others
  • Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with New England and New York wastewater regulations, permitting processes, and funding opportunities
  • Understanding of Revit use on multidisciplinary water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Experience in water and wastewater system design, including treatment plants, pump stations, conveyance systems, and asset management planning
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a self-motivated approach to professional growth
  • Additional licensure in multiple states to support diverse project needs

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from initial concept through construction completion, promoting adherence to technical, regulatory, and funding requirements
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and guiding them through funding options, permitting, and project execution
  • Supervise multidisciplinary teams, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight for successful project delivery
  • Prepare and overseeing the development of construction documents, including permit applications, drawings, specifications, opinions of cost, and reports, while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to address project needs and resolve design challenges
  • Manage budgets and schedules, keeping projects on track while meeting client expectations and industry best practices
  • Assist with business development, including proposal writing, scope, and budget development
