About The Position

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s Irradiation Sciences Group, Radiation Measurements and Irradiations (RMI) Service Center is seeking a Project Manager 1 to serve as the deputy Service Center Manager providing both technical expertise and project management. The position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects and assisting in the overall service center by ensuring consistency with organizational strategy, commitments, and goals. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party resources in order to deliver projects according to plan. Also responsible to define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Requirements

  • BS/BA and 5+ years of relevant project management experience -OR- MS/MA or higher and 3+ years of relevant project management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with instrument calibrations.
  • Experience working under and implementing quality requirements associated with ISO/IEC 17025, ASME NQA-1, and NVLAP.
  • Experience working government contracts.
  • Experience communicating directly with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for task and project plan development and adherence to schedule, budget, quality, and performance
  • Contribute to proposal development
  • Communicates with the project team and senior project managers on planning and executing work.
  • Lead and motivate project staff
  • Must have the ability to work closely with all RMI staff and projects and is responsible to oversee the performance of all project work to ensure safe and effective project execution.
  • Perform final quality review of all project records
  • Effectively interface with internal and external clients on a daily to weekly basis.
  • Contribute to the development of the service center rates and overall budget on an annual basis
