About The Position

The Project Management Partner (PMP) provides research and CMC project management expertise and leadership across Cell & Gene Therapy programs and initiatives, supporting projects, programs, and business processes that advance cell and gene therapy development. Partnering closely with Program Leads, senior leaders, and subject matter experts, the PMP drives cross-functional coordination and operational execution. The PMP develops and maintains integrated plans to ensure program objectives are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets, while also contributing to cross-project initiatives and continuous improvements that strengthen organizational effectiveness and alignment across CGT Research and key Astellas stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BA/BS with 7+ years related experience or MS and 3+ years related experience
  • Strong project management skills, including: planning, execution, tracking budgets, tracking to a schedule/meeting deadlines, and risk management
  • Professional command of MS Project, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills in English
  • Takes initiative, self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, being able to adapt to changes in direction
  • Adaptability to thrive in an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across multiple time zones, including the U.S. West Coast, East Coast, and Japan

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree (PhD) in relevant subject (strongly preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (CAPM, PMP) or other relevant project management certifications in place or underway
  • Experience with global projects within research or technical operations in the biopharma industry, including exposure to GMP
  • Experience or exposure to research and CMC lifecycle within cell therapy and /or biologics
  • Experience preparing for regulatory filings and interactions (filings for INTERACT, pre-IND, IND, BLA, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management expertise to projects and programs across research and CMC activities; creates tracks and updates schedules and action items for multiple project teams.
  • Drive the strategy and planning of CGT programs in collaboration with the Research Lead and project team, ensuring alignment with CGT Research and Asset Maximization Team objectives.
  • Identify and monitor critical path activities, project risks, and contingency plans to ensure delivery of project objectives timely; escalate risks to relevant stakeholders as needed
  • Facilitate structured team discussions and ensure visibility and documentation of decisions and action items. Creates and uses project tools and templates that support the communication and management of complex deliverables.
  • Encourage team members to provide functional expertise and ensure alignment within their respective functions.
  • Work with teams to ensure that deliverables fall within applicable scope and budget.
  • Ensure CGT Leadership, department heads, and other key stakeholders are regularly informed of project status and plans.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve processes within CGT Research.
  • Share experiences and lessons leaned with other PMs to strengthen the CGT Program Management and Business Operations function.
  • Consistently perform duties within established SOPs, and in accordance with GxP requirements.
