About the position

As a Project Logistics Manager at Linde Engineering North America LLC, you will be responsible for preparing and organizing project setups, creating logistics schedules, and establishing project-specific procedures. Your role will involve executing vendor pre-qualifications, conducting competitive bidding, and negotiating rates for logistics agreements. You will also monitor engineering hours and transport budgets, support the sales team with budget estimations, and perform onsite logistics studies. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with trade regulations and manage project transportation requirements within budgetary guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize project setup
  • Prepare a project logistics schedule in coordination with the Project Controls-Scheduling department
  • Prepare project specific procedures and specifications such as packing and marking instructions
  • Establish a project specific logistics service provider list
  • Execute vendor pre-qualification
  • Conduct competitive bidding and negotiate rates and discounts
  • Execute final bid evaluation and price comparison
  • Examine transport and lifting sketches for oversized cargoes
  • Report and monitor engineering hours and transport budget
  • Support Sales Team for budget calculation and project feasibility
  • Perform onsite logistics study for equipment transport
  • Facilitate national and international market screens
  • Adhere to Trade Compliance and company policies
  • Execute project transportation requirements within budget
  • Audit freight charges and file claims on overages
  • Prepare and file transport insurance claims
  • Work with suppliers to ensure timely submission of project documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Five years of Supply Chain Management or Procurement - Logistics experience in an EPC or project-driven environment
  • Experience with ERP business systems for data collection
  • International and domestic shipping experience following Trade Compliance requirements
  • Managing permit loads and heavy haul transportation
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs Import or Export Regulations
  • Experience with Customs Invoice Valuation
  • Negotiating best shipping rates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software, SAP, and discipline specific software applications
  • Experience working closely with suppliers for project deliverables
  • Reporting supply chain activities to internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively monitoring supplier's progress
