About The Position

Astro Pak is the nation's leading precision cleaning and passivation contractor specializing in on-site cleaning of high purity gas and fluid systems, as well as precision cleaning of components and hardware at the company’s Cleanroom facilities. Astro Pak provides services to over 15 sectors including: Data Centers, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Semiconductor, and other selected Industrial markets. The company, founded in 1959, has performed on-site precision chemical cleaning in every State of the Union as well as several projects in Asia, continental Europe, England, Ireland and Mexico. The Project Leader provides functional management and technical leadership for on-site field operations. This role leads field crews to safely deliver high-quality service on schedule and within budget while ensuring proper execution of work, accurate documentation, and excellent customer service. The Project Leader also mentors’ technicians and serves as the primary on-site point of contact for clients. This Project Leader role is dedicated to supporting data center construction, commissioning, and operational readiness projects. The position focuses on mission-critical systems where schedule adherence, cleanliness, documentation accuracy, and process control are essential. This role requires over 80% travel, including 30-50% night shifts and must be available to work significant overtime including holidays, weekends & short notice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification required
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Technical training or associate degree preferred
  • HAZWOPER and Confined Space certifications preferred
  • Valid Class “C” driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Medical DOT certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience leading teams in project-based environments (e.g., Superintendent, Shift Supervisor, Team Lead, Associate Superintendent)
  • Hands-on experience with flow systems, including pumps, flushing, and chemical cleaning of piping
  • Experience supporting systems such as hydronic piping (HVAC), water treatment systems, drinking water lines, and oil & gas flushing and purging
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, documents, correspondence, and memos
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations including rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Moderate computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate weight-bearing equipment
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work significant overtime, including nights, weekends, holidays, and short-notice call-ins (30–50% night shifts)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage on-site field operations by planning work scope, staffing, resources, and schedules while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, including accountability for job-level gross profit
  • Supervise, mentor, and direct field crews by delegating tasks, setting expectations, monitoring performance, and supporting technician development while maintaining strong client communication
  • Execute and oversee field processes such as derouging, bio-cleaning, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, system drying to specified dew points, and pH neutralization, including calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment and chemical mixtures
  • Safely handle and work with hazardous chemicals; properly calculate, install, and operate Astro Pak equipment, skids, hoses, vehicles, and material-handling equipment to optimize system flow and chemical contact
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety policies by completing Pre-Job Hazard Analyses (PJHA), facilitating safety meetings and training, maintaining CEO/5S standards, completing required safety certifications, and working safely in physically demanding and hazardous environments
  • Support operational needs by loading and unloading vehicles, traveling extensively (including overnight travel), working overtime or night shifts as required, assisting other teams or customers as needed, and performing additional duties assigned by the Operations Manager
