About The Position

The Project Leader 1 – MEP Construction is responsible for supporting the overall strategy, execution of deliverables, project completion and profitable outcomes for a significantly complex project &/or multiple projects simultaneously. This position will require proficient understanding and knowledge of prime, or general contracting with experience overseeing on or more disciplines related to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Structural systems preferred.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics with 7+ years experience or 5+ years with a MS degree in Engineering.
  • Supervise Construction Project Managers and perform PM duties on construction projects.
  • Maintain operational and administrative control for construction projects.
  • Extensive Project Management experience managing teams and monitoring multiple projects at any given time.
  • Experienced in up-front project involvement with engineering firms, the client, and General Contractors.
  • Proven track record of successful projects.
  • Has Managed diverse groups on projects that involve multi-discipline knowledge for example; Fire Alarm, Communications, Security, AV, Power, and Instrumentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can direct cross function teams to reach mutual agreement to meet business objectives.
  • Able to work in a diverse environment, with personnel having a range of backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical thinking to evaluate options and directions.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Can facilitate change and communicate effectively.
  • Able to think abstractly, in both short and long term planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and schedules.
  • Ensure that resources, manpower, and materials are allocated effectively.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure that projects stay within financial constraints.
  • Oversee teams of contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and other staff.
  • Promote collaboration and ensure that everyone is aligned with project goals.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Address issues promptly to minimize delays or additional costs.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of resources to the construction site.
  • Handle unexpected challenges, such as site issues or material delays.
  • Adapt plans to maintain progress without compromising quality or safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, financials, and progress.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site.
