About The Position

The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) - Engineering Teacher for Grades 7-8 is responsible for planning and implementing effective teaching strategies to engage students in learning about engineering concepts. This role requires the ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs and to utilize technology to enhance learning. The teacher will work under the supervision of the School Principal and CTE Director, ensuring that lessons align with career-technical content standards and district curriculum goals.

Requirements

• Hold or qualify for a valid Ohio Math or Science teaching license for grades 7-8 or a valid Career-Technical (CTE) license.
• Ability to engage students in learning and utilize technology effectively.
• Ability to obtain Ohio School Van Driver Certification for transporting students.
• Understanding of the importance of literacy in the career field.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in teaching engineering or related subjects.
• Familiarity with career-technical education programs.

Responsibilities

• Clearly communicate learning objectives to students.
• Create engaging hands-on lessons aligned with career-technical content standards and district curriculum goals.
• Analyze student data from assessments to plan and adapt instruction.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent/teacher conferences, and professional development activities.
• Utilize reflective practices to improve instructional approaches.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Identify and engage business and industry partners to support instruction.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
