OVERVIEW Normally this position carries the functional title of Area Project Lead and has responsibility for the overall engineering design of an area or for a small process unit(s) on a project. Reports to a Project Lead II or III, Project Engineer II or III, or Project Manager. Must be knowledgeable about the S&B Project Management Manual.   • Obtains a well defined overall project scope of work from the project manager or client.
  • Approves all P&ID's revised or created for his area of a project.
  • Reviews all new or revised drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Approves all inquiries and requisitions for engineered/tagged equipment and instruments.
  • Initiates project change orders any time changes to scope affect the budget or schedule.
  • Promotes good work habits and attitudes within the various disciplines.
  • Requires a minimum of four (4) years experience in one or more of the discipline areas, or in an engineering support role.
  • Equivalent working knowledge and experience may substitute for work in a discipline.
  • Must have working knowledge of the various software packages and automated engineering and reporting systems used at S&B.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and standards, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers, and engineers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance.
  • Lifting of 25 pounds may be required.
