About The Position

The Project Installation Technician will be expected to cover RTG's new installations and upgrade project work as assigned, including, but not limited to, Low-Voltage Cabling, New Store/Restaurant POS installation, Remodels, and Move-Add Changes. Must be self-sufficient and possess technical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot, support, and install low voltage cabling, network devices, computer hardware & software, and other IT-related devices (Audio, Security Cameras, Drive Thru Systems, Digital Menu Boards). Will be required to create and update installation documents and checklists. Must demonstrate good communication skills and be able to work independently. Responsible for possessing the required RTG-approved tools and test equipment, either RTG-issued equipment or RTG-approved personal equipment. *RTG reserves the right to inspect any personal tools or equipment to ensure they meet RTG’s requirements. Will be responsible for returning any RTG provided tools or equipment at end of employment. Reports directly to the Director of Installation Vendor Services will also take direction from the Director of Project Management and the Project Manager responsible for the designated assignment.

Requirements

  • Capable of regularly lifting 50 lbs. or more.
  • Communicate using Text, Email, phone, Microsoft Teams.
  • Complete complex installations.
  • Use of hand and power tools.
  • Complex cabling, including terminations (Jacks, Patch Panels, Male ends, Coax).
  • Able to work on ladders (up to 12’), scissor lifts, and roofs.
  • Accessing technical documentation resources via the internet.
  • Use provided software to Reimage POS Devices and Servers.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as drilling, assembly, and repair.
  • Understand and follow site blueprints and technical documents.
  • Must complete and pass RTG Field & Safety training monthly.
  • Driving record must meet company standards.
  • Must Pass Pre-employment RTG Approved Physical on an annual basis.

Nice To Haves

  • A+ and Network+ Certification or equivalent knowledge recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Installations to meet RTG quality standards.
  • Work within an estimated 6-hour radius of the home base would require auto rental.
  • Develop documentation for new concepts and update any existing documentation as needed.
  • Coach, train, and develop new installers and 1099 assist techs.
  • Maintain work hours with the manager/director to as close as possible to a 40-hour work week.
  • Maintain required RTG approved set of tools and supplies.
  • Accommodate scheduling, with work typically scheduled between Sunday evening and Friday morning.
  • Promptly respond to texts, emails, phone calls, and Microsoft Teams chats.
  • Arrive onsite before the scheduled job start time indicated in the work order.
  • Complete the job in the allotted time and escalate delays or issues to the appropriate parties.
  • Be cordial and professional to customers, co-workers, and other vendors.
  • Close work orders and provide all deliverables, including customer checklist or approved sign-off.
  • Update time tracking as determined by the manager/director.
  • Update work orders daily and ship return parts weekly.
