About The Position

This entry-level Project Finance Analyst I role will provide project financial support and direction on assigned projects, ensuring project financials are properly monitored and managed in pursuit of maximizing project profitability and cash flow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-year of related experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking, initiative and good judgement as well as constructive problem solving.
  • Ability to set priorities and work in an organized manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor, including the ability to demonstrate the upmost discretion pertaining to employee information.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team in a very fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and familiarity with HRMS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Load project budgets to financial management systems.
  • Review / reconcile loaded project budgets to ensure accuracy against contracted values.
  • Load payment schedule to financial management systems.
  • Review / reconcile loaded project payment schedule to ensure accuracy against contracted values and compliance to negotiated contract terms.
  • Maintain configuration of Project and Contract modules, including assignment of Rate Sets / Plans to Activities and configuration of Contract Lines.
  • Prepares project level actual versus budget/forecast variance analysis monthly as well as monthly reports for distribution in analyzing monthly results.
  • Conduct monthly review and analysis of assigned projects, including review of revenue recognition, project performance variances, and WIP/Deferred revenue positions.
  • Perform project level WIP/Deferred revenue reconciliations as required.
  • Monitor WIP/Deferred revenue, over the Limit and Contract activation reports and resolve/escalate unusual activity.
  • Prepare monthly reporting requirements for assigned projects, including unsigned contract opportunities, backlog, and other ad-hoc financial analysis as required
  • Prepares project level actual versus budget/forecast variance analysis monthly as well as monthly reports for distribution in analyzing monthly results.
  • Work with project management to ensure accurate projections taking into consideration changing project timelines, changes in scope and budget to actual comparisons which may require change orders.
  • Responsible for ensuring that payments do not exceed SOW timelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring change orders are executed and communicated to appropriate personnel.
  • Act as a central contact for the project team for designated project communications, correspondence and associated documentation.
  • Participate in (study) team meetings/Project kick off meetings and interaction with cross functional staff to verify information and/or triage new data issues or prior identified action items
