Short Description Reporting to the Manager, Residential New Product Development, the Project/Experienced Project Hardware Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate combines technical, critical thinking and project management skills, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. This candidate will also engage with cross-functional teams, including labs and manufacturing plants, to meet product scope and timing requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, schedule development, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and relationship building skills across functions
• Effective leadership skills and the ability to develop others and drive professional growth
• Excellent critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
• Works effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to quickly and efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of experience with new product development through a systematic product release process
• HVAC or related industry experience

Responsibilities

• Lead/support end-to-end new product development projects from ideation to commercialization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Design, Advanced Manufacturing, Marketing, Procurement, etc) to advance NPD efforts
• Define product requirements, specifications, and technical feasibility
• Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
• Coordinate prototyping, testing, and validation activities
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout development
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to optimize products and components to meet performance and reliability standards
• Participate in product launch activities and post-launch improvements
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance
• Support internal/external customers by presenting technical data and project updates.
• Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
