About The Position

The Project Executive is ultimately accountable for the overall success of projects under their direction. In addition, the Project Executive is integral to the business development efforts of the region by leading business acquisition strategy formation and execution, including existing client development, for his/her assigned market sectors or areas. This role also provides direct leadership to project management staff as well as performs high level project management functions. Although client advocacy exists at all levels of the organization, the Project Executive is accountable for understanding the Client’s business objectives and ensuring Pankow’s solutions meet or exceed the Client’s needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture
  • Design-build construction management
  • Estimating
  • Scheduling
  • Self-performed concrete knowledge preferred
  • Fifteen or more years of jobsite and/or project management experience

  • LEED AP desired
  • DBIA designation desired

Responsibilities

  • Business Development
  • Lead the analysis of assigned Market Sectors or areas to determine the viability of that sector and to establish regional priorities
  • Lead the development and execution of assigned Market Sector Acquisition Plans, including Target Client Engagement Strategies for clients, in alignment with the Regional BAP
  • Provide visibility for the Company by participating in industry organizations, events, etc.
  • Grow relationships with clients through referrals, management of consultant relationships and through the practice of client advocacy to create Qualified Opportunities
  • Be the Client’s Advocate
  • Understand the Client’s business case to find better building solutions that support Client success
  • Bring the project team the Client’s perspective, monitor their solutions and challenge the team’s assumptions and conclusions prior to meeting with and presenting to the Client
  • Lead the Response to Opportunity (RtO) effort on client accounts by providing direction to the team pursuing the opportunity, including development of the Win Strategy, and by managing the relevant relationships with the Client and any consultants involved in the procurement process. Assess the situation over the course of the procurement and make any adjustments necessary to successfully close the opportunity
  • Establish and execute a plan for client relationship management during and after the completion of the project such that we are suitably pre-positioned for future opportunities and referrals
  • Profit maximization strategy
  • Understand market fees and cost structure such that they can be determined for the project and presented appropriately
  • Identify and communicate a profit maximization plan to the project team
  • Project Management
  • Provide project teams with oversight and direction in order to manage risk, optimize performance and meet or exceed client expectation
  • Conduct fee analysis for prospective projects
