Description of Position – The Project Executive (PX) is a senior leader responsible for the successful delivery of multiple construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role provides strategic oversight to Project Managers and project teams, ensuring alignment with company goals, predictable outcomes, and exceptional client experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 12 to 20 years of progressive construction experience, with at least 5 years in a senior project leadership role such as Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale multifamily or commercial construction projects, typically $50M or greater.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, cost control, and industry-standard construction technology platforms such as Procore.
  • Equivalent field-based career progression from Superintendent into project management leadership will be considered with proven success leading large, complex projects and teams.
  • Proven leadership ability with a focus on team development, strategic decision-making, and operational execution.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project-level P&L performance.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, leadership development, and delivering operational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Construction Management preferred.
  • Advanced certifications such as PMP, DBIA, or LEED Accreditation are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall leadership and performance of a portfolio of multi-unit construction projects within an assigned region, ensuring alignment with company goals related to safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.
  • Oversee project execution to ensure all projects meet or exceed established budgets, schedule milestones, and quality standards.
  • Lead monthly financial reviews including cost-to-complete projections, identification of project risks, and development of margin improvement strategies.
  • Review and approve major buyout decisions and subcontractor awards to ensure alignment with project and company objectives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and development for Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project teams.
  • Partner closely with Field Leadership, including Regional Field Executives and Superintendents, to ensure alignment between field operations and project management.
  • Conduct regular performance discussions, provide coaching, and support career development planning.
  • Build team depth through mentorship, succession planning, and proactive talent development.
  • Serve as the primary executive-level point of contact for clients, owners, and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships that support repeat business.
  • Lead high-level project updates, manage expectations, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support Business Development efforts through client engagement and relationship management.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction and Operations teams during project handoff to ensure projects are well-planned, properly staffed, and positioned for successful execution.
  • Validate that project strategies support efficient workflows, maintain a sense of urgency, and promote strong team collaboration.
  • Drive operational consistency and excellence across all assigned projects.
  • Ensure adoption and effective use of company systems, processes, and tools, including scheduling standards, cost controls, and construction management platforms.
  • Lead lessons learned discussions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as schedule trends, cost variances, and subcontractor performance to identify and address issues early.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks well in advance of potential impact.
  • Lead the resolution of contract disputes, major change orders, and performance challenges.
  • Ensure all projects operate in compliance with safety standards, legal requirements, and contractual obligations.
