The Project Executive (PX) is a construction professional with extensive experience who manages one or more projects at any given time. As the PX, the individual will be responsible for producing strategic execution plans for all Higley Construction projects under their supervision, generating new business, maintaining existing relationships and overseeing training and development of all staff on their projects. This individual will team with all support departments to ensure Higley Construction policy and procedures are followed so that we can ensure project delivery that exceeds the expectations of all stakeholders. This person is ultimately accountable for all aspects of their projects. It is unlikely that any single individual will possess all the credentials and skills we describe below, which represent the company’s vision for this position.

Requirements

  • Possesses advanced competency in business writing and public presentation skills, and is motivated to become a compelling presenter, motivator, and team leader.
  • Demonstrates excellence in personal work habits; and the ability to lead their team by example.
  • Demonstrates the ability to creatively overcome personnel, project, and competitive challenges on protects which he or she leads.
  • Demonstrate “Team” Leadership ability.
  • Understands the dedication necessary to be a leader.
  • Competent or willing to learn multiple construction software’s.
  • Understand construction accounting and project cost forecasting.
  • Ability to leverage relationships.
  • Understands the intricacies of the local market and learns them of new markets.
  • Ability to make the call of when to escalate, diffuse or accept risk of a given situation.
  • Strong ability and understanding of estimating/preconstruction.
  • Holds at least a four-year engineering, construction management or construction-related degree, or relevant experience.
  • Has at least fifteen (15) years of project management/superintendent experience with increasing responsibility on construction projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Holds engineering certifications, such as a PE, and industry certifications resulting from memberships in organizations like OSHA, USGBC, CMAA, or ASHE.

  • Possesses an appreciation of the value of building a professional network of industry and community relationships that will help Higley Construction learn about future project opportunities and a commitment to playing an active role in securing future business.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to creatively engage and lead in department development and initiatives that develop the group and benefit the company.
  • Demonstrates the ability to successfully negotiate contract agreements with Subcontractors and material suppliers; and to successfully administer that during a project.
  • Demonstrates the ability to negotiate contracts with owners and design teams.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of establishing project schedules, including critical milestone dates; and managing the schedule, holding all project stakeholders- Owner, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors accountable for on-time performance.
  • Has a proven record of mentoring junior staff and evaluating them on performance.
  • Has a proven history of successfully obtaining work for the firm.
  • Is responsible for dispute resolution on projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
