About The Position

Project Executives (PX) lead, manages, and coordinates all phases of one or more projects from preconstruction through closeout, and has overall accountability for the project’s success. This role is responsible for the development of staff, cultivating opportunities for future projects, as well as providing superior clients services and maintaining quality assurance. PXs are experienced, reliable, and professional leaders who have differentiated themselves by consistently demonstrating their ability to direct successful outcomes on challenging projects.

Requirements

  • minimum of 15 years construction project management experience at an executive level in commercial construction or qualified experience including minimum 12 months experience in a Senior Project Manager or equivalent level role
  • Demonstrated action toward mastery of skills required to manage business process business development, and strategic goals.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.
  • Recommendations from two (2) members of SSC operations team, PX or higher, independent operations management, quality management, and communication skills.
  • Experience developing and maintain client and broker relationships.
  • High level of analytical ability and strategic thinking skills is required in order to find solutions to difficult human, technical or operational problems.
  • Leader by example, team builder; respectfully sets a collaborative tone for the team.
  • Flexibility to adapt with changing business climate.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills with employees, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask and encourages others to do likewise.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work, be attentive to detail and actively problem solve throughout the entire construction process.
  • Maintains understanding of project requirements and deliverables.
  • Reviews important details with Team as required for project success.
  • Co-develops with Project Team execution strategies, including budget, schedule, quality, safety, and risk management strategies.
  • Accountable for project completion and financials, critical success factors, customer satisfaction results.
  • Guide multiple jobs and multiple job teams operationally in each phase including preconstruction, construction, closeout, and post construction services.
  • Ensure the project strategy is clearly defined and communicated at the internal kickoff meeting.
  • Develop high-performance teams through supervisor, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff including timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Business Development and Marketing Departments to secure new work, profitability, client satisfaction and the best subs for the job.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements on all projects.
  • Oversee the development of the master project schedule and manage its implementation.
  • Mentor and coach project team to ensure their skills and capabilities are being developed.
  • Effectively motivate, lead, train and develop people.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and work environment which attracts/retains strong staff.
  • Inspire staff to develop expanded capabilities and additional skills in order to position them for advancement within the organization.
  • In conjunction with VP of Operations, monitor project team development.

  • Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee, and pricing decisions.
  • Participate in industry events, as requested.
  • Communicate to VP of Ops if see the PM/PE workload isn’t working efficiently.
  • Deal with day-to-day company operational issues such as staff needs, mitigate project related issues, and is the first point of contact for PMs, Supers, and PEs when they require assistance.
  • Conducts routine inspections of the job site to verify work progress, safety, environmental compliance, quality and operations standards and specifications are being met.
  • Evaluates and ensures a proper response is made by the Project Manager for all client complaints in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes complaint trends and response with appropriate operational corrective actions.
  • Hold a team project pre-meeting to stay on top of current issues and status as well as stay informed regarding schedule and budget.
  • Primary point of contact.
  • Formulate and develop contract terms with clients and communicate to project team.
  • Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with client and industry to continuously address their needs and interests.
  • Assure and measure client satisfaction.
  • Supports business development activities by building relationships in business and personal networks and through community involvement events.
