Job Summary: The Project Executive (PX) – MEP Lead for the Boise, ID market is client focused role responsible for leading through a blend of Project Management and Business Development activities by advancing high-priority pursuits across all market sectors. This role is also created to align MEP opportunities with the Axiom Structural group’s client base, reporting directly to the Nashville, TN (MEP) Design/Build division. Initially this role will focus on integrating with the team through Electrical Project Management with our current client base and developing rapport with the internal and external team, while also conducting business development activities with the Boise, ID structural team to generate new MEP centered opportunities that will help to grow the MEP capabilities in the Boise, ID market. Working across business units and service lines, this PX role leverages corporate resources to foster enhanced collaboration between the ICT Business Unit and others to perform large scale projects as an MEP/FP Design entity.

Requirements

  • 10+ Years in Construction Industry, consulting experience preferred
  • 10+ Years in Design/Build and Industrial market sectors
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Analytics
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer or other similar certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Project Management Receive and review project requirements and obtain clarification on any conflicting, missing, or vague items.
  • Plan project activities, and schedule resources based on team inputs and client scopes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project designs meet reliability standards, including redundancy in power, cooling, and IT systems to achieve constant uptime.
  • Initiate newly awarded projects with team and client stakeholders and establish the performance baselines.
  • Interface with clients, locations, and information that may be of sensitive or secure nature.
  • Incorporate client requirements for project speed, such as fast-track construction and modular design approaches, to accelerate time-to-market.
  • Coordinates with the project coordinator to create meeting minutes.
  • Manage internal cross discipline coordination.
  • Ensure quality control meets company standards throughout the project.
  • Control project scope when issues or changes surface and coordinate the changes with company management and clients.
  • Closeout design projects ensuring all deliverables have been provided and project documentation is complete.
  • Track lessons learned and communicate with management to support continuous improvements in company processes.
  • Business Development, Strategy Execution and Collaboration Leads Business Development efforts, focusing on executing strategic initiatives as defined by the Strategic Planning Implementation (SPI) Teams.
  • Lead Business Development activities in the Idaho market, leveraging both existing client relationships and new business opportunities.
  • Conducts market analysis and client research to inform outreach and pursuit approaches.
  • Define strategies and execution plans to continue to push national leadership in Advance Manufacturing, Data Centers, and Defense markets, to align with the organic growth goals set for our business unit.
  • Cultivate new business and pipelines in strategic sectors identified through market and client research Engage in collaboration efforts and work closely with other Salas O’Brien business units (i.e. P&M, BEW, BEN, BES, BEE-Federal, Impact Cx, etc.) to jointly pursue large-scale Contractor and Architectural clients.
  • Engage with Project Executives (PX) and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to build project opportunity pipeline by formulating approaches, RFP responses and project fee proposals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic direction, leverage Business Intelligence tools to support BD needs.
  • Client Relationship Management Serve as client executive/manager for key projects, overseeing contract negotiations, proposal writing, project kick-off, and early award engagement.
  • Negotiate project fees and contracts, and leverage risk management resources with corporate services when needed.
  • Attend major milestone meetings and gatherings with key clients.
  • Advise Business Unit leadership on success stories and/or concerns from client interactions to inform service improvements.
  • Travel as needed to meet with clients and potential clients Marketing & Corporate Support Develops client-specific and market sector-based marketing strategies that align with business goals and client needs.
  • Collaborates with and guides divisional team members in execution of strategic action plans Champions seller-doer initiatives and collection of Selling Boldly data Track and report divisional Selling Boldly metrics (internal BD performance data)
  • Oversee conference planning, sponsorships, and client-facing events that reinforce relationship building goals, in coordination with Corporate Marketing.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, including networking functions, panels, and keynote speaking opportunities Leverage marketing staff to control data entry in CRM systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint) to track strategic pursuits, client touchpoints, and marketing ROI.
  • Leadership & Mentorship Mentor junior engineering and project staff in soft skills development related to project life cycle logistics and client relationship management within the design/build sector.
  • Support project management training and other continuous improvement exercises available through corporate resources.
