About The Position

The Project Executive of Mission Critical provides senior leadership and strategic oversight for large-scale, hyperscale mission critical electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for driving safe, predictable, and high-quality project delivery from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring strong financial performance, contractual compliance, and client satisfaction. As a visible executive presence both on site and with clients, the Project Executive sets the standard for safety, operational excellence, and professional leadership across all assigned programs. Serving as a key liaison between clients, project teams, and enterprise leadership, the Project Executive leads cross-functional teams through complex challenges, manages risk, and supports business development efforts aligned with long-term delivery strategy. This position plays a critical role in developing high-performing teams, strengthening client partnerships, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, predictability, and margins across mission critical projects.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated executive-level leadership on hyperscale, mission-critical programs, including responsibility for strategic direction, operational execution, and cross-functional team performance.
  • Proficient in the use of Accubid Anywhere, Vista, JazzHR, Bluebeam, Project Site, Procore, Plangrid, Building Connected, Trimble Materials, Navisworks, and other related construction applications
  • Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience within the electrical construction industry, with a proven track record overseeing both project management and field operations.
  • Four (4) years of experience in mission critical construction
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related discipline; equivalent consideration will be given to candidates with ten (10) or more years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Safety Culture. Set the standard by modeling “best in class” safety practices. Partner with enterprise safety leadership and field teams to create compliance strategies that minimize risks and continuously improve jobsite safety performance.
  • Executive Level Leadership On-Site. Provide executive oversight for large and hyperscale mission critical construction projects of the electrical discipline.
  • Drive Project Delivery. Lead execution through all phases including preconstruction, planning, construction, commissioning support, and closeout to ensure consistent, predictable performance.
  • Contract Administration and Compliance. Ensure project team alignment with contractual requirements while protecting company interests and maximizing project value.
  • Build and Maintain Client Partnerships. Serve as the primary executive client contact, strengthening relationships through responsiveness, transparency, and long-term trust.
  • Lead High-Stakes Discussions to Resolution. Navigate complex, challenging meetings including scope negotiations, payment disputes, progress reviews, and closeout discussions while maintaining forward momentum.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams. Align and support project managers, field leaders, estimators, planners, modelers, schedulers, fabrication leaders, project controls, and administrative staff to ensure consistent execution
  • Talent Development. Hire, mentor, and retain high-performing project management and field leadership teams while reinforcing accountability, teamwork, and leadership development.
  • Regulatory Compliance. Ensure all permitting requirements are satisfied and that project teams consistently comply with applicable building codes, AHJ standards, and regulatory requirements throughout planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Financial Performance. Partner with enterprise finance teams to understand and communicate earn versus burn, cost to complete, margin performance, cash position, and change order exposure
  • Financial Reporting. Assist department leadership in the production of monthly financial reports by communicating the financial health of assigned project(s).
  • Risk Management. Identify risks early, implement mitigation strategies, and lead teams through complex challenges to minimize exposure and protect outcomes.
  • Business Development. Partner with estimating and leadership teams to develop competitive proposals, support client presentations, and win new work aligned with delivery strategy.
  • Continuous Improvement. Promote modern construction tools and digital workflows while implementing best practices and lessons learned to improve efficiency, predictability, and margins.
  • Assume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Executive Management.
