About The Position

As a Project Environmental Engineer or Scientist, you will be responsible for planning, performing, and managing fieldwork to collect environmental data (soil, sediment, groundwater, and vapor), performing and managing oversight of cleanup construction, lead efforts related to multimedia compliance, evaluating and interpreting environmental data, performing engineering and scientific analysis and evaluation, preparing cleanup documents including work plans, reports and design (design drawings, specifications, and engineers estimate), managing projects/tasks, and mentoring junior staff. Performs duties in collaboration with senior engineers/geologists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or geology; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of environmental consulting or related professional experience.
  • PE license required.
  • Ability to prepare proposals, work plans, and reports under supervision.
  • Strong project management and technical environmental skillset preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and technical writing skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Commitment to safety and knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • Completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • QSD or QSP certification preferred.
  • QISP certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Local, State, and Federal permitting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, perform, and manage field explorations and environmental data collection efforts.
  • Lead efforts related to multimedia compliance including permitting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Evaluate and interpret field and laboratory environmental data.
  • Perform engineering/scientific analysis and evaluation, and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Evaluate the fate and transport of environmental contaminants and develop conceptual site models.
  • Prepare remedial investigation work plans, sampling and analysis plans, and data reports.
  • Prepare design documents and supporting deliverables.
  • Prepare permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
  • Support clients with project bidding/contract solicitation.
  • Perform management and oversight of cleanup construction.
  • Provide project closeout and long-term monitoring support.
  • Perform project and task management duties.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, contractors, and project staff.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
