About The Position

Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company has an immediate opening for a Project or Senior Project Environmental Engineer or Geologist to assist in the management and growth of our environmental practice in the San Francisco Bay Area (we have offices in Alameda, San Jose, and West Sacramento). Conduct and manage environmental investigations Manage soil and groundwater remediation projects Oversee project scheduling, budget control, and staff mentoring Meet and interact with clients and regulatory agencies, including: 1. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2. Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) 3. Regional Water Quality Control Board 4. Local Environmental Health agencies Coordinate, participate in, and oversee staff field activities Log borings, test pits, trenches, and cores Evaluate geologic and hydrogeological conditions Perform soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling Prepare environmental proposals and technical reports Provide technical support to staff engineers, geologists, and field technicians

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A./M.S. in Geology, Engineering, or related field
  • California PE or PG licensure (required)
  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER training (required)
  • 6+ years (10+ for Senior Project level) of experience performing most or all duties listed above
  • Strong foundational writing skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and independently when required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience managing projects and budgets
  • Experience managing clients and client relationships
  • Ability to oversee subcontractors and project staff
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
  • Experience preparing technical proposals and report deliverables
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations
  • Detail-oriented team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Stormwater QSD Certification (strongly preferred)
  • Additional certifications and registrations a plus
  • Local experience and familiarity with regional geologic and engineering practices preferred
  • Experience with construction activities (desired)
