About The Position

At Novonesis, the Project Engineering and Execution Team provides technical and business management for the Project Engineering department and supports business units across their site responsibilities in North America. The Project Engineering & Execution Manager is responsible for managing the execution of the site capital project portfolio, ensuring all capital projects are effectively executed with regards to schedule, quality, and economy. This role also ensures projects comply with all corporate, local, federal, and state regulatory requirements and establishes a safety culture in all project construction work. The position's scope covers Microbes sites in North America (Milwaukee, Saskatoon, East Windsor, New Berlin, West Allis, Salem, Madison, Wausau) and further supports sites within relevant geographies or as assigned by the Head of Engineering in the Region. As Project Engineering and Execution Manager, you will set the direction for the Project Engineering department to support Novonesis ambitions and the EFS Americas plan, including business goals and targets for yourself and department personnel. You will directly manage Project Engineering personnel, expected to be a mix of Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers, and other relevant staff, providing leadership and coaching to individual staff and team members to ensure they have the necessary information to accomplish their tasks.

Requirements

  • B.S. in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in positions of increasing responsibilities
  • Proven skills, performance, and experience in supervision, management, and leadership
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of capital project management processes.
  • Must have prior experience directly managing capital projects in a processing/manufacturing industry environment.
  • Experience in multiple technical disciplines of project engineering to establish broad project perspective.
  • Experience in many formats of contract execution formats and methods.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills across broad ranges, both cross-functional and hierarchal.
  • Ability to apply these skills to external relationships with suppliers, vendors and contractors.
  • Travel up to 25% regionally and globally

Nice To Haves

  • External project management certification is desired.
  • Experience with FIDIC contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the execution of the site capital project portfolio ensuring that all capital projects are effectively executed with regards to schedule, quality and economy.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects comply with all corporate, local, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures a safety culture is established in all project construction work.
  • Supports Microbes sites in North America (Milwaukee, Saskatoon, East Windsor, New Berlin, West Allis, Salem, Madison, Wausau).
  • Further supports sites within relevant geographies or as assigned by Head of Engineering in Region.
  • Set the direction for the Project Engineering department to support Novonesis ambitions and EFS Americas plan including business goals, targets for self and department personnel.
  • Directly manage Project Engineering personnel expected to be a mix of Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers and other relevant staff.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the individual staff and team members of the department and secure that they get the necessary information to accomplish their tasks.
  • Responsible for projects meeting targets – scope, schedule, cost and without accidents.
  • Safety of internal employees and external contractors is top priority.
  • Ensure robust quality control is in place at all sites for CapEx projects.
  • Oversee and coordinate the execution of the capital project portfolio and ensure proper allocation of resources to the tasks.
  • Proactively prioritize projects with stakeholders for the maximum benefit to Novonesis.
  • Responsible for managing department capacity cost budget, and capital project budgets to approved levels.
  • Responsible for collaborating with Portfolio Management to ensure yearly CapEx cash-flow targets are met.
  • Provides a working climate that promotes the Novonesis culture and initiates activities and action plans to improve team engagement.
