Actalent is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Watertown, WI. This hybrid position involves reviewing, interpreting, and documenting customer specifications, sales agreements, test data, and other project-related information prior to the 'kick-off' meeting with the project team. The role requires attending 'progress' meetings, including 'kick-off' meetings with manufacturing personnel and 'post-job review' meetings with the project team after commissioning of the equipment. The Mechanical Engineer will ensure the flow of information on projects by delegating tasks and ensuring their completion, managing the gathering of missing information from customers and vendors, and documenting responses. The position also involves providing all aspects of equipment design, including necessary calculations, advance orders of long lead components, customer approval drawings, and shop detail drawings for manufacturing using sound practical engineering principles and safety standards. The engineer will ensure project deadlines, estimated engineering hours, and equipment cost constraints are met, while also reviewing complex tasks with upper-level engineers. Additionally, the role includes providing direction to and assisting in the training of lower-level engineering hires, developing working relationships with the manufacturing department, and serving as a technical resource for various departments.
