About the position

Agropur is looking for Project Engineers to join their team in various locations including Jerome, Idaho; Luxemburg, Weyauwega, Little Chute, Wisconsin; Lake Norden, South Dakota; Le Sueur, Minnesota; and Hull, Iowa. The role involves developing and implementing transformation processes to enhance operational yield performance, collaborating with plant management and corporate functions to define project scope, process design, and capital and expense estimates. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for selecting contractors/vendors, specifying equipment, coordinating execution plans, assessing plant equipment and processes, troubleshooting problems, and developing process designs and cost estimates for optimization and new installations. The position requires following up on projects while considering impacts on staff, quality, and safety, and managing budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement transformation processes to enhance operational yield performance.
  • Collaborate with plant management and corporate functions to define project scope, process design, capital and expense estimates.
  • Select contractors/vendors and specify equipment.
  • Coordinate execution plans with a focus on measurable results.
  • Assess plant equipment and processes to identify deficiencies and improve raw material usage.
  • Troubleshoot problems, design solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop process designs, equipment specifications, and cost estimates for optimization and new installations.
  • Follow up on projects, considering impacts on staff, quality, and safety, and manage budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Use data from equipment and ERP systems to track raw material losses and yield efficiency.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years in project engineering roles.
  • Experience in dairy, food, or sanitary processes.
  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineer Degree.
