Heavy Civil Project Engineer The Project Engineer is responsible for monitoring activities for assigned construction sites/jobs. Inspects construction site daily and works with vendors to schedule deliveries, and to ensure that materials are delivered on time. Responsible for reviewing specifications or drawings and ensuring that construction progresses as scheduled and contract specifications are adhered to. Works to ensure that all state, federal, and industry codes or specifications are followed. Also reports to management any deviations and works on corrections. This position reports to the Project Manager. Whitaker Construction , founded in 1953, has over 69 years of experience in the heavy civil and underground utility construction industry. Whitaker, an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company, has become one of the largest contractors in the intermountain area with more than 400 employees and nearly 50 crews. We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, culinary water, irrigation, earthwork, roadway construction, dams, landfills, natural gas pipelines, industrial piping, and telecommunication projects primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon.
