Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required. field. OR additional four (4) years of related experience
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within a data center or critical environment
  • 3+ years of senior level construction management or design management experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of controls systems, SCADA, EPMS, etc and electrical equipment including switchgear and distribution

  • Ability to effectively lead a diverse team of professionals inside of a dynamic team environment while also being capable of taking initiative when necessary
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ASHRAE, ISO, IEC, NEC, NFPA related to electrical systems
  • Experience with system performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and energy efficiency optimization
  • Experience with or coordination of electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software

Responsibilities

  • Run all aspects of the electrical design development, coordination, and installation for all electrical plant and equipment on data center projects, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to the highest industry standards.
  • Oversee the design process and development for data center electrical controls systems, including SCADA, EPMS, and electrical equipment such as switchgear and distribution systems.
  • Provide input on electrical controls systems designs during project planning and contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure all electrical work meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical controls systems and equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular schedule and progress reviews, providing updates and insights to client teams and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical system issues during startup and commissioning.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure alignment and smooth project execution, identifying and resolving issues in electrical systems throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate QA/QC/Cx documentation, including test reports, issue logs, and punch lists.
  • Oversee the provision of detailed turnover packages for operational teams upon project completion.
  • Ensure all electrical systems comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ASHRAE, AISC).
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, standards, and technologies related to electrical systems and share insights with team members to promote best practices.
