About The Position

We provide full-scale electrical design-build, installation, maintenance, repair, and retrofit services for commercial and industrial clients in a wide range of markets. The Project Engineer will use their knowledge of electrical projects, project documentation, and electrical installations to assist project teams with the organization of project documents and record drawings. They will also communicate with General Contractor Teams and Vendors to ensure correct documentation has been received and submitted as needed. This individual will work closely with the project team and will be involved in the project’s day-to-day planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
  • Able to provide proof of Journeyman’s license (if Journeyman Electrician path)
  • Understanding of all facets of construction blueprints, specifications and Requests for Information (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and special systems) (if Journeyman Electrician path)
  • Understanding of basic computer skills (ex. folder structure, emails & attachments, keyboard shortcuts) (if Journeyman Electrician path)
  • Minimum of 1+ years of Project Engineer Field (if Project Engineer background path)
  • Minimum of 1+ years in a similar role within the construction industry (if Project Engineer background path)
  • Understanding of all facets of construction blueprints and drawings, specifications, and Requests for Information (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and special systems) (if Project Engineer background path)
  • Understanding of basic computer skills (ex. folder structure, emails & attachments, keyboard shortcuts) (if Project Engineer background path)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (if Project Engineer background path)
  • Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient individual able to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Must prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced multi-task environment.
  • Must demonstrate commitment to company values.
  • Must be able to work effectively and independently in an office, construction site office trailer, or construction job site. This requires the ability to work at different locations, which may include driving between multiple work sites during the day or week. Construction site settings may require working in tunnels, or on roofs or catwalks.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees and other professionals.

  • Proficient with Bluebeam (if Journeyman Electrician path)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in duties including document control, production and submission of RFIs, change order processing, and change order management.
  • Assist the Project Team in document distribution, the keeping of accurate and up-to-date record drawings, and lighting fixture and gear package management from submission to installation.
  • Assist the General Foremen and Foremen in the research of information needed for the project’s installations, in organizing and distributing project information, in recording as-built conditions on the project documents, and in the production of documentation requesting clarification of design in the form of RFIs and follow up responses.
  • Actively participate in project planning meetings as a member of the project leadership team.
