Project Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer I who wants to expand their skillset by developing foundational civil engineering skills, learning from experienced mentors, and contributing to project design and delivery efforts. The Project Engineer I will prepare engineering calculations, design elements, and basic drafting under supervision. This role will support project tasks while building professional expertise and confidence. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Basic CAD drafting experience: (Civil 3D preferred).
- Basic written and oral communication skills.
- Utilizing discretion regarding when to add external project team members.
- Can work effectively both in a team and independently as directed.
- Willingness to accomplish goals working together.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Acquire knowledge base and skills through mentoring and self-directed learning.
- Prepare engineering calculations, design elements, basic drafting and technical analyses under supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
- Use basic CAD drafting skills (Civil 3D preferred) and office software proficiently.
- Apply established design methods, applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
- Support the team in delivering estimation of time to complete tasks on schedule and proactively communicate if delays occur.
- Perform work in accordance with company standards, safety policies, and ethical guidelines.
- Seek guidance and mentoring from senior engineers and apply feedback to improve performance.
- Perform additional duties as directed to meet project and company goals.
- Maintain professionalism, safety, and compliance with company standards.
- Determine when and where to obtain direction on modified techniques and new approaches.
