What You'll Do As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring every aspect of the project runs smoothly-from technical planning and documentation to problem-solving in the field. You'll work closely with superintendents, craft teams, and clients to deliver safe, high-quality, on-time results.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Previous construction, design, or project management experience in heavy civil or highway work preferred.
  • Skills: Strong technical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Business-minded approach with attention to detail and cost control.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting design plans and specifications for construction teams.
  • Identifying and resolving design discrepancies, interferences, or field challenges.
  • Preparing and maintaining project documentation-status reports, submittals, sketches, punch lists, and more.
  • Monitoring budgets, costs, and schedules to support project profitability.
  • Assisting in the preparation of field design changes and "as-built" drawings.
  • Supporting project safety programs and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Providing mentorship or training to junior team members.
