About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer with proven on-site field experience in a specialty chemical plant environment. This role will leverage technical expertise to own, lead, and execute projects from initial requirements and scope alignment through task definition, milestone and deliverable development, contractor field oversight, commissioning and handover, and final project completion, under the direction of Project Managers. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of industrial piping standards, process equipment, and safety requirements, and will actively support safety priorities and compliance with internal standards, applicable regulations, and industry safety protocols. This position will collaborate closely with engineers and project teams to deliver accurate, efficient project solutions that align with production objectives and regulatory requirements. This position is on-site and primarily in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Construction, Industrial, Manufacturing or similar
  • 2–4 years of experience in field-based project work, including basic process design and layout, preferably within chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of basic piping, civil, and structural systems.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD.
  • Basic knowledge of piping specifications, materials, and routing practices.
  • Familiarity with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to foster unity within diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively with limited information in a complex project environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with project management frameworks and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in technical decision-making and the resolution of design and engineering issues.
  • Support the Project Manager in developing bids, proposals, scopes of work, scope changes, correspondence, cost estimates, schedules, material lists, design concepts, design drawings, and other project documentation in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Develop, review, and update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support the development of equipment layouts and piping routing from conceptual design through detailed P&IDs.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and communicate cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely resource availability.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of piping specifications and engineering standards.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and support bid evaluations.
  • Maintain organized project files and accurate technical documentation.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support and coordination across multiple engineering disciplines to resolve project issues.
