About The Position

Wasatch Taylormade Builders is looking for a Project Engineer and someone who can be an essential to maintaining organization, communication, and documentation throughout the lifecycle of a construction project. Just as a Field Engineer supports a Superintendent, a Project Engineer (PE) supports the Project Manager (PM). The Project Manager carries a wide range of responsibilities, and the Project Engineer plays a critical role in facilitating and completing many of those tasks.

Requirements

Previous construction experience and/or relevant schooling required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid understanding of the buyout process during the pre-construction phase
Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain all plan sets, including updates from RFIs and ASIs
Ensure plans are uploaded promptly and labeled correctly
Manage communication between WTB and architects/engineers
Create RFIs when needed
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date RFI log
Ensure all RFIs are properly organized and tracked
Request, review, organize, and forward all submittals
Manage both action submittals and closeout submittals
Utilize an electronic binder (e.g., Pype or similar system) to compile closeout documentation, including: Approved submittals, Warranties and guarantees, O&M manuals, Selections and other required documentation
Obtaining bids and bidding information from subcontractors
Creating and distributing bid invitations and bid packages
Creating and managing project reports
Assisting the Project Manager with budget maintenance as needed
On-site meetings
Subcontractor coordination and relations
Pre-construction phase activities and support
