About The Position

This role supports the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program within the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team as a Systems Engineer. The SEIT Requirements and Verification team is responsible for managing all System level requirements for the Trident II ballistic missile (D5LE and D5LE2 missile), overseeing interface definitions, planning and executing verification processes, and contributing to all development projects under the FBM Program. The team maintains a Weapon System level view of the FBM Program, engaging in activities related to integrating the FBM Life Extension 2 (LE2) missile into the submarine weapon system and supporting the integration of missile subsystems into the flight vehicle design.

Requirements

  • Proposal Experience
  • Experience with working with an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and creating/executing IMS tasks.
  • Experience working with a variety engineering disciplines
  • Final Secret Security Clearance required to start - ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance - U.S. Citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating across functional and programmatic boundaries
  • Development of Key Performance Indicators, metric management, data dashboards using Tableau or similar
  • Familiarity with all phases of the development life cycle for missile and/or launch vehicle programs and supporting production of missile, launch vehicle, spacecraft, or aircraft hardware
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external customers and executive leadership
  • Basic understanding of systems thinking techniques
  • Program/Project Management experience with the ability to articulate sophisticated technical and programmatic issues to subordinates, peers, leadership, and customers
  • Experience in Cost Account Management (CAM)
  • Active or Current Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
  • Planning and formulating engineering programs; reviewing product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Evaluating and approving design changes, specification and drawing releases.
  • Coordinating activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
