The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $94,160 - $124,762. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Project Engineer (Manufacturing)! Are you passionate about Project Engineering? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Lateral Automation Products Value Stream group. As a Project Engineer (Manufacturing), you’ll be crucial in ensuring continued innovation and supporting our diverse team. The Manufacturing Engineering team within the Lateral Automation Products Value Stream plays a critical role in driving innovation and operational excellence across our assembly processes. As a Project Engineer (Manufacturing), you will take ownership of assigned product lines, leading efforts to develop, implement, and continuously improve assembly processes that ensure safe, high-quality, efficient production. This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with teams including Assembly, Quality Assurance, Production Planning, Product Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance in a collaborative environment. You will report directly to the Manager – Manufacturing Engineering and contribute meaningfully to the success of the Lateral Automation Products Value Stream.

  • Specifying, developing, and procuring production equipment by applying validation planning methodologies, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
  • Designing efficient layouts and workstations to optimize flow of people, material, and information across the production environment.
  • Leading hands-on root cause analysis and problem solving for assembly-related issues using structured 4-step problem solving techniques.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive assembly process documentation for fuse products, including process flow diagrams, process specification procedures (SOPs/work instructions), routings, and value stream maps.
  • Playing a key role in quality and risk management by contributing to PFMEAs, assembly control plans, inspection specification procedures, and statistical process control (SPC) systems.
  • Leverage data analysis and process control principles to monitor and improve assembly performance, implement automated solutions, and ensure consistent product quality through advanced control technologies.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with design, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new equipment and processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity within the Lateral Automation Value Stream.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Engineering Technology preferred).
  • Experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment for mechanical systems.
  • Experience with assembly tooling, equipment, and process documentation.
  • Working knowledge of process control principles and statistical analysis for monitoring and improving assembly performance.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies for assembly (robotics, vision systems, or material handling).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools (Excel advanced functions; Power BI preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with large groups to obtain alignment.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work across multiple teams and solve complex problems.
  • Goal orientated, emotional intelligence, and resilience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
