General Function: The Electrical Project Engineer assists the Senior Project Engineer in leading, overseeing, and managing project-specific engineering tasks and in serving as the primary engineering interface for internal and external stakeholders. Core responsibilities include conducting review, assessments, and approval of engineering and program products, performing research and analyses, processing documents and certifications, managing schedules, monitoring engineering design status and manning, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, directing actions, and providing technical support to staff as necessary. In addition to reporting directly to the Senior Project Engineer, the Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for implementing policies and monitoring operations to ensure that engineering projects under their cognizance adhere to project contract and regulatory specifications and all discrepancies are corrected in a timely manner. The Electrical Project Engineer’s primary focus is on shipboard electrical systems including power, lighting, interior communications, control systems, and electronics. The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for integrating these electrical systems with other systems onboard the ship. The candidate should possess a strong knowledge in shipboard electrical systems and should also understand their inter-relationships and inter-dependencies to other systems. Candidate should be able to think broadly at the ship system level but also possess the ability to understand and solve micro electrical engineering problems.
