Project Engineer - Transportation Engineering
About The Position

In this role, the Project Engineer will assist in: · completing assessment of roadways and drainage structures · development of design plans for projects of varying complexity, ranging from pavement overlays to roundabout design · complete construction inspection of road and bridge projects
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply civil engineering fundaments to real-world projects
- Ability to learn and interpret INDOT Design Manual and Standard Specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
- If an employee plans to use their own vehicle in the scope of their employment with Shrewsberry, they will be required to provide proof of insurance and a drivers license
Nice To Haves
- Ability to become licensed Professional Engineer within 4 years
- 2+ years of experience in the inspection of civil heavy highway projects
- Experience working on design of INDOT or Federally Funded LPA projects
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with clients to determine project needs
- Complete on site investigation of roadway assets and develop recommendations for improvements
- Develop design plans for roadway projects using AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Assist in the preparation of quantities and cost estimates
- Complete quality control reviews of construction plans, design calculations and other contract documents
- Coordinate with contractors, utility companies and other stakeholders to discuss plans, specifications, and schedules
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
