About The Position

As a Project Engineer in Burnsville, MN, you will: Be a member of the project engineering team, responsible for effective management of assigned projects Execute engineering projects according to best practices, on time, within scope, and within budget while contributing to consistent project execution, governance, and reporting practices across the team Lead onboarding and training for new project team members; coach and mentor assigned team members in areas including risk management, resource planning and deconfliction, scope management and issue resolution, schedule management and issue resolution, and stakeholder management; promote a high-performance project team Report project progress and performance to functional and enterprise leadership per established cadences; facilitate, support, and improve stakeholder management, including communications; ensure consistent use of project status, risk, and issue reporting Establish, maintain, and promote use of common project governance practices; create and maintain project management tools for scheduling, resource planning, risk tracking, issue tracking, and reporting in manners consistent with best practices in the project management community Contribute to project portfolio reviews and basic scenario analysis related to schedule and resource constraints; work with engineering personnel and cross-functional leaders to balance resources and reduce conflicts across projects Collaborate across functions to ensure alignment, leverage capabilities, remove execution barriers, and improve execution effectiveness; contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at leveraging prior lessons learned, improving project execution, and institutionalizing generated knowledge Collaborate closely with suppliers and partner teams to ensure alignment, resolve issues, and support smooth project delivery. The expectations for this position are to work on-site in Burnsville, MN at least one day per week with the remainder of the schedule being hybrid and flexible. This schedule may change based on client needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher in an engineering or business-related field
  • 10+ years leading projects in an engineering, R&D, technology, or product development environment
  • Business acumen; demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional business environments
  • Experience with project scheduling and reporting tools
  • Proven record of business process improvement and influencing without authority
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders at all corporate levels
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and coach project team personnel
  • Proven record of managing or leading engineers
  • Experience operating in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project environments
  • Experience managing external vendors, suppliers, or development partners
  • Understanding of key technologies and processes related to the custom power solution industry
  • Effective communication, organization, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management certification desired (PMP or equivalent)
  • Experience with Microsoft Planner and Project along with knowledge of AI (Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT desired
