About The Position

Wasatch Electric, a subsidiary of publicly traded EMCOR Group Inc., has been serving the community since 1919, providing full-scale electrical design-build, installation, maintenance, repair, and retrofit services for commercial and industrial clients across various markets. The Project Engineer will leverage their expertise in electrical projects, project documentation, and electrical installations to support project teams in organizing project documents and record drawings. This role involves communicating with General Contractor Teams and Vendors to ensure timely receipt and submission of correct documentation. The individual will collaborate closely with the project team and actively participate in the project's daily planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
  • If a Journeyman Electrician: Able to provide proof of Journeyman’s license
  • If a Journeyman Electrician: Understanding of all facets of construction blueprints, specifications and Requests for Information (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and special systems)
  • If a Journeyman Electrician: Understanding of basic computer skills (ex. folder structure, emails & attachments, keyboard shortcuts)
  • If with Project Engineer background: Minimum of 1+ years of Project Engineer Field experience
  • If with Project Engineer background: Minimum of 1+ years in a similar role within the construction industry
  • If with Project Engineer background: Understanding of all facets of construction blueprints and drawings, specifications, and Requests for Information (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and special systems)
  • If with Project Engineer background: Understanding of basic computer skills (ex. folder structure, emails & attachments, keyboard shortcuts)
  • If with Project Engineer background: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, and professionalism
  • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient individual able to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Must prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced multi-task environment

  • Must be able to work effectively and independently in an office, construction site office trailer, or construction job site, including driving between multiple work sites during the day or week
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees and other professionals

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in duties including document control, production and submission of RFIs, change order processing, and change order management.
  • Assist the Project Team in document distribution, the keeping of accurate and up-to-date record drawings, and lighting fixture and gear package management from submission to installation.
  • Assist the General Foremen and Foremen in the research of information needed for the project’s installations, in organizing and distributing project information, in recording as-built conditions on the project documents, and in the production of documentation requesting clarification of design in the form of RFIs and follow up responses.
  • Actively participate in project planning meetings as a member of the project leadership team.
