About The Position

The Project Engineer provides administrative and technical support across scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration. In partnership with Project Managers and Superintendents, Project Engineers contribute to overall project oversight and may be assigned responsibility for specific project components, subcontractors, or scopes of work. This role plays a critical part in supporting project execution, documentation, coordination, and closeout activities while developing a strong foundation in construction operations and leadership.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar role within the construction industry (civil contractor experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related software systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong team orientation, reliability, and passion for the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination Assist in the development of project plans as requested.
  • Support the development, updating, and maintenance of project schedules and subcontractor detail schedules.
  • Monitor and expedite material deliveries, ensuring alignment with the project schedule.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in drawing coordination and document flow.
  • Subcontractor & Cost Management Collaborate with Project Managers on purchasing activities, including scoping and take-offs.
  • Administer subcontracts as assigned.
  • Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Perform scope take-offs and assist with cost estimating.
  • Draft and support change order documentation.
  • Document Control & Technical Support Prepare, review, and forward submittals.
  • Confirm submittals comply with project plans and specifications.
  • Serve as a point person for document management applications and systems.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and organized project records.
  • Project Closeout & Development Support project closeout activities, including assembling O&M manuals, warranties, and turnover documentation for owners.
  • Assist with preparation of final payment documents for subcontractors.
  • Participate in and, as appropriate, lead training sessions to support project and team development.
