About The Position
The Project Engineer position at Veolia North America involves a comprehensive role focused on the survey, design, installation oversight, and commissioning of metering equipment and data gathering hardware. This position is critical in ensuring that projects meet customer objectives and specifications. The Project Engineer will oversee contractor work during various phases of the project, providing essential support for the build and assembly of the scope of supply. Additionally, the role includes conducting system commissioning and start-ups, as well as operation and maintenance training for existing installations. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for identifying areas of improvement within the systems in place. In this role, the Project Engineer will be tasked with commissioning and starting up utility-grade metering equipment, as well as engineering and designing new or modified advanced metering systems. A significant part of the job involves reviewing project plans, equipment, and proposed designs to ensure compliance with specifications. The Project Engineer will conduct on-site surveys and walkthroughs with operating personnel, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure that all aspects of the project are aligned with the intended outcomes. Furthermore, the role requires troubleshooting, inspecting, and rebuilding existing equipment in the field, as well as composing documentation, procedures, internal memoranda, and reports in a timely manner. The position requires a willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time, which may include flights and hotel stays. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio drafting is essential, along with a basic understanding of network troubleshooting and MEP drawings, which include electrical, mechanical, and plumbing schematics. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Veolia North America continues to provide high-quality water, waste, and energy management services across North America.
