About The Position

Completes and supports construction and field execution responsibilities for underground utility projects utilizing construction fundamentals and company best practice standards, processes, resources, and tools. Works on and visit project work sites, review scope of work, prepare cost estimates and proposals, and assist in management of the project including the permitting process. Assist with the evaluation of projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings as well as monitoring compliance with contract documents. Establishes, monitors, updates, communicates, and maintains project schedules utilizing Microsoft Project or other software programs. Manages the preparation, review, tracking, and distribution of submittals and RFIs. Assists the PM/PE to develop and implement strategies to self-perform and to outsource the various aspects of a project to achieve the projects objectives of price, schedule and quality. Reviews subcontracts and purchase orders to help the PM/PE assure that all project goals are being addressed. Proactively identifies issues that could lead to problems and facilitate their solutions. Participates in project progress meetings. Assists the PM/PE to manage project costs to assure that budgets are maintained. Documents and manages changes in the work including design changes, specifications, and drawings and Understands project status to secure the interests of the entire project team Helps prepare customer billings and related documentation as requested. Assists in the project closeout process to assure timely completion

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Understanding and interest in Construction Career.
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency including Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications and follow instructions.
  • Flexible with work locations depending on assigned projects.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 25 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally walk one continuous mile.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior wet utility contracting experience preferred.
  • Experience in project estimating/management software (Bid2Win Suite, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Procore) a bonus.
