About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Project Engineer with a focus on water/wastewater infrastructure design and in-depth design engineering experience in municipal conveyance, treatment, and pumping systems in our Houston, TX office. This role offers an opportunity to grow as a Project Engineer with increasing responsibility in technical design, project execution, and multidisciplinary coordination. The qualified candidate will support the planning, analysis, and design of water, wastewater, and conveyance projects while working closely with project managers and senior engineers. This position provides hands-on exposure to complex infrastructure projects and supports continued technical and professional development within AECOM’s established water/wastewater practice. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure related projects. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, preparation of technical memorandum, preparation of contract documents such as specifications and drawings Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Provides guidance to entry level engineers. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Requirements

  • BS Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Passed PE exam.
  • Course work or Internship and/or Co-op experience with focus on water and wastewater engineering.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams.
  • Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Participate as member of professional and technical societies.
