As a Project Engineer, you will play a supporting role: Performing specific design calculations, cost estimates, and plan preparation. May compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, feasibility reports, letters, memos and specifications on Water Resources and Transportation projects. May have the opportunity to perform tasks or observe projects in the field. May be involved in public meetings and have other presentation opportunities. May oversee the work of Engineering Technicians and Graduate Engineers. As you advance in your career: You may also plan, direct, and coordinate all project activities to ensure that projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budgets. You will also lead multiple work teams, manage multiple complex projects, identify new projects, formulate project approaches, lead the proposal process, formulate, track and meet project budgets and schedules, and market to and secure work from new and existing clients. Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received.
